Dear Kenwood Families,
Happy Friday! This week we began the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and we look forward to celebrating during an all school assembly when we return from our fall break. Our MLL teachers, Mrs. Shungu and Mrs. Markus have been working with our University partners to plan for this celebration. We look forward to sharing more details as we get closer to the date. Our MLL teacher, Mrs. Shungu was a recent recipient of the 40 under 40 News Gazette recognition for being named one of the top 40 Central Illinois contributors for our community. Please help us recognize Mrs. Shungu for this special recognition.
Panorama Survey
This past week our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students finished taking the Panorama Survey. The Panorama survey measures how our students perceive their social emotional skills. These skills are defined in three categories.
Self management which describes how well students manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in different situations.
Growth mindset which are student perceptions of whether they have the potential to change their performance in school.
Self-efficacy which looks at how much students believe they can succeed in achieving academic outcomes.
The survey also helps us see how students perceive their sense of belonging and teacher and student relationships. We look forward to our results to help us plan for and support our students.
