Dear Kenwood Families,
This past week our 5th grade families participated in their grade level night with the theme of the Escape Room. Teams worked together to solve clues and make their great escape. Thanks to our 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Hopper and Mrs. Yasunaga, and our Kenwood PTA for hosting and supporting this fun event. This past week, our Multi Lingual Learners completed ACCESS testing which is an annual test from the State that helps to measure students English proficiency. We look forward to receiving results in the coming months.
This past week we were able to secure two coaches for our 4th/5th grade basketball team! Coach Karlesha and Coach Maya will be leading our Kenwood Basketball team and both coaches are currently teacher aides at Kenwood. We plan to hold tryouts and begin practices during the first week of February. This will be a co-ed team with students from 4th and 5th grade. We will be playing other elementary schools in the district. Practices will be held at Kenwood after school and as such transportation will need to be provided by parents. Our games will be scheduled at different elementary schools throughout the district and transportation will also need to be provided to games.
