BLM Assembly

February 20th, 2026

Dear Kenwood Families,

I hope this finds you and your family doing well. This week has presented a health challenge, as we have seen a high number of student and staff absences due to illness. Earlier this week, our building nurse, Ms. Robinson, provided information regarding cold and flu symptoms. To prevent the spread of illness to others at school, we ask that you please keep your children home to recover if they are experiencing any of those symptoms.

Despite the sickness, we had some bright spots. Our Girls on the Run club continues with their practices, and there's growing excitement for our Kenwood Basketball team's first game. They play on Monday, Feb. 23rd, at 5:30 pm at Stratton. Please come out and support the team if you can! Mrs. Geraldi has also been celebrating the Olympics in her music class as she has been working with students on a variety of Olympic themed events related to music.

Looking ahead to next week, we are excited for our Black History Month Assembly. We will be welcoming Dr. Logan, who will share his book, Protecting the Dream, with our students and families and we also look forward to music and poetry by our students.

Panorama Family Survey

ISBE requires all schools to survey students (Grades 4-12), teachers, and families annually for feedback on their educational experiences. This year, we are using the Panorama platform instead of 5 Essentials. Your feedback helps us identify strengths and areas for improvement. Access the family survey via the link below:

Sincerely,

Dr. Trevor Nadrozny

Principal
